Description
Climb up Mount Popa near Bagan to visit the Monastery situated at the top. Mt Popa was a volcano, 1518 metres above sea level, and located in central Myanmar about 50 km southeast of Bagan. The monastery at Taungkalat is famed for being home to 37 nats (Burmese spirits), which are represented by status at the base of the volcanic outcrop. From here, you can climb up over 800 steps to the monastery at the top, where you will find a 360-degree panorama and a labyrinth of shrines to explore.

Visit Extinct Volcano In Myanmar
- Pick up from hotel and head to Mt.Popa.
study how useful palm tree is for the people and see rural lifestyle.
Taste palm juice, palm sugar, typical tea leaves salad as well.
Proceed to Mt Popa and climb up to get to the top.
Lunch at local restaurant in Mt Popa. (Own account)
Return to Bagan late afternoon.
Watch the sunset from top of one of the stupas.
Drop off at the hotel.
