Itinerary

1. Day 1 : Arrival in Antananarivo

   • Welcome and transfer to the hotel in Antananarivo, the capital, which is the beating heart of Madagascar.
   • Indeed, the "City of Thousands" is, at the same time, the largest economic, political, historical, and cultural pole.
   • Antananarivo is a step not to be missed because it has an undeniable tourist attraction, which is not always discovered at first sight.
   • The palaces, streets, squares, and houses of the upper town tell a fascinating story.

2. Day 2 : Antananarivo - Andasibe

   • After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Andasibe.
   • Visit along the way of the Butterfly Farm, Mandraka. Here, we meet an impressive concentration of chameleons, geckos, lizards and of course butterflies. Arrival in the afternoon in the village of Andasibe.
   • Installation at the hotel, in bungalows located in the direct surroundings of the forest.

3. Day 3: Andasibe

   • After breakfast, departure for a guided tour of the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park.
   • Hike in the forest for 3 hours to discover the fauna and flora of the park, including the Indri Indri, the largest and most evolved species of lemurs.
   • In the afternoon, visit the VOI village park.
   • You will discover the famous Indri Indri lemurs, the biggest of Madagascar.

4. Day 4 : Andasibe - Manambato -Ankanin'Nofy

   • 145KMS +/- 2 :30 hours drive + 45min of crossing.
   • After breakfast, we will depart for Manambato, which we will reach after approximately three hours of national road 2 (towards the East) and some 8 km of dirt track. Manambato is located on the edges of Lake Rasoabe.
   • On board a barge accompanied by a friendly crew, there was quiet navigation between the sea and lagoons on the Canal des Pangalanes.

5. Day 5 : Ankanin'nofy

   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Morning visit of the Palmarium reserve.
     • A collection of endemic and rare palms (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, but also Voanioala and Lemurophoenix).
     • Various species of plants from all regions of Madagascar (orchids, carnivorous plants, ebony, mahogany, traveler's trees).
     • Encounter with mischievous lemurs (Indri, sifaka, crowned lemur, grey hapalemur, lemur vari).
   • Afternoon visit of the fishermen's villages.
   • Optional: other nautical activities on Lake Ampitabe (canoe kayak, swimming...).

6. Day 6 : Ankanin'nofy - Tamatave - Mahambo

   • 3 hours of crossing covering approximately 80 kilometers, plus or minus 4 hours of driving.
   • Breakfast at the hotel.
   • Navigation towards Tamatave.
     • You will cross or overtake on this aquatic boulevard pirogues and rafts carrying products from the surrounding localities (bananas and other seasonal fruits, manioc, fish, dried ravinala leaves for the roofs of the huts, etc.) that are transported to Tamatave.
   • Arrival in Tamatave then, road towards Mahambo.

7. Day 7 : Mahambo - Sainte Marie

   • Transfer by boat to Sainte Marie.
   • Welcome at your arrival and transfer to your hotel.

8. Day 8: Sainte Marie

   • Sainte Marie offers you the charm of its traditional and secular life.
   • This piece of land is a real paradise with its beaches, forests, and historical sites.
   • Hikes and walks (on foot or mountain bike), excursions by car, quad.
   • Visit and live Sainte Marie at the rhythm of the "moramora" (softly, softly), which orchestrates the life of the inhabitants.

9. Day 9: Sainte Marie

   • Free Stays.
   • From mid-June to mid-October, Sainte Marie is the breeding ground for megapteres, the humpback whales. Boat trips can be organized to admire these marine mammals.

10. Day 10 : Sainte Marie - Antananarivo

    • After a last dive in Sainte Marie according to the flight Schedule of Tsaradia, transfer to the airport for flight to Antananarivo.

11. Day 11 : Antananarivo

    • If time permits, you will make a short stop at the artisanal market for some shopping. 
    • Transfer to the airport to catch your international flights.
