The itinerary

Day 01

Antananarivo to Morondava and Beachfront Arrival

Arrive in the seaside town of Morondava.
After checking into your beachfront accommodation, walk around the town or stroll along the beach.
In the evening, seek out a local restaurant for a barbecue dinner.

Day 02

Sunrise at the Avenue of the Baobabs and Transfer to Bekopaka

After an early start, travel to the Avenue of the Baobabs to watch the sunrise. These magnificent trees are often referred to as the 'Tree of Life' as, during the wet season, they absorb water and store it in their trunks.
Afterwards, travel to Bekopaka, the gateway to the Bemaraha National Park.

Day 03

Big Tsingy Exploration in Bemaraha National Park

Enjoy an early breakfast and head into the Big Tsingy in the Bemaraha National Park. A series of imposing limestone shards grow out of the ground like a stone forest, so it's no surprise that tsingy translates to 'walking on tiptoes'.
Spend the day exploring the park, watching for lemurs - there are 11 species here - and be sure to get a bird's-eye view of the tsingys from the hanging bridges.

Day 04

Manambolo River Canoe Trip and Small Tsingy Hike

Explore the Manambolo River on a morning canoe trip, then hike around the Small Tsingy.
Climb through karst pinnacles to reach the impressive viewpoints across the park.

Day 05

Return to Morondava and Sunset at Baobab Alley

Return to Morondava in time to see the sunset at Baobab Alley.
In the evening, perhaps head to a beachfront restaurant for a farewell dinner with your travelling companions.
