- Become one of the few travellers to visit Transnistria, a breakaway republic in eastern Moldova, where Soviet values are still upheld, and locals continue their fight for independence, Tiraspol and Bender city the main!
- Tiraspol is the biggest city in Transnistria. It is located on the eastern bank of the Nistru River. In the morning, you will discover Tighina, which is located in Tighina town and was built in the 15th century by the prince of Moldova, Stephen the Great. Originally a small wooden fort, it was later fortified in stone by the prince of Moldova, Petru Rares.
- The Ottomans occupied the fort in 1538 (in a campaign led by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent) and strengthened it in 1541. Bender Fortress is an architectural ensemble of irregular quadrilateral plan surrounded by wide walls, 2-3 meters thick, made of limestone and brick.
- Because Tiraspol has a high-density of population in the south and has virtually no borderlines with the adjacent localities, the concept of Tiraspol-Bender agglomeration has appeared; together these two cities account for approximately 350.000 common inhabitants.
- Bender is located on the right side of the Nistru River, and since 1992 it has been under the governance of Tiraspol. These two neighbouring towns are linked to each other through trolley bus lines and minibuses. Culture. The cultural life and heritage in Tiraspol and elsewhere in Transnistria have strong Slavic characteristics.
- This refers to theatre, literature, and other domains. The language in most cases is Russian and many references will be made to Russian culture in general.

- Tiraspol – Back in the USSR, In the afternoon, you will have lunch at a restaurant in Tiraspol.( pay yourself).
- After lunch, you will set off on a time travel to Tiraspol. The guide will do a city tour. During the city tour, you will discover Vladimir Lenin’s monument and the tank left from the Second World War.
- The city seems to be a vestige of the Soviet past. Nevertheless, you will be amazed by the contrasts, one of which is the football complex „Sheriff” - a pearl of contemporary architecture.
