Day tour of Gagauz from Chisinau in Moldova
- After a pick-up from your hotel in Chisinau in the morning, we will set out to tour the capital city, which is at the centre and is the largest, in Gagauzia. One of the folk legends says, that a certain “Khan” named the village in honour of his horse, who carried the wounded owner from the battlefield. During the tour, you will learn the history of the city; visit the most important and interesting sights with your Gagauz tour guide.
- Then, transfer to Congaz village which is one of the largest villages in Europe in terms of population. Here, explore the native traditions and navigate through the lives of the locals with the help of your guide.
- Next, proceed to Gagauz Sofrasi, an ethno-tourist complex. Here you will get acquainted with the traditions of the Gagauz culture, visit houses of locals in the customary style, and taste the Gagauz life.
- Our last stop would be Besalma Village which is famous for its established effort towards preserving the traditions and culture of the Gagauz people. Here, visit the first museum of Gagauz culture and life, which is over 15,000 exhibits rich! You will also have a chance to get pictures clicked of you wearing the national dress of the country. Then, see the 19th-century wooden windmill built on the highest point of the region, which would afford to you a glimpse of the time when flour was extracted by manual labour.
