Leave Marrakech (the Red City), the most important former imperial city in Morocco's history. It is situated on the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, which we will drive throughout for miles and miles, enjoying the fascinating presence of superb and scattered Berber Villages.
Almost halfway, we can see by the Universal heritage of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village of the 11th century.
Visit the Hollywood of Africa, Ouarzazate, about 35 km from Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. The drive will go along the longest valley (1052 km) all over the kingdom and pass the biggest palm tree oases.
Arrive in Zagora, where the remains of an Almoravid fortress can still be seen.
Night stay and dinner at our guest house.

Day 2- Zagora - M'hamid - Erg Chegaga
Pass by Tamagrout, which is situated on the Draa River. In this small town, we will visit one of the oldest libraries of the kingdom.
Drive along the Draa Valley to M'hamid, a very modest village and not much different from the village you have passed before arriving.
From a vast plateau, you can see the impressive sand dunes of Erg Chigaga, which appear from the horizon. You can go for a camel ride to see one of the most fascinating sand dunes and the superb sunset.
Stay overnight in the Berber camp.

Day 3- Chigaga Dunes – Iriki Lake – Marrakech
From Erg Chigaga, we drive along the dunes and the peaceful and fascinating wilderness.
Pass by the natural dried lake of Iriki. Thirty years ago, this lake was full of water and different kinds of birds.
After a long drive on an off-road, we get onto the paved road and pass the small town of Foum-Zguid, which is a quiet and sleepy Berber town.
Stopover in Taznakht, which is was a former trading post for this vast region. This little Berber village is one of the biggest centres for carpets in the kingdom.
From Taznakht, we drive for almost 90 km, along with the quiet oases and several Berber villages, to get to the junction in between Marrakech and Ouarzazate.
Cross the High Atlas Mountains to return to Marrakech.
