Itinerary

1. Day 1: From Fez to Midelt

   Your adventure begins as you depart from the enchanting city of Fez, famous for its historic medina and intricate architecture. You'll embark on a scenic drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views of charming towns and picturesque landscapes. Make a stop in Ifrane, often referred to as "Little Switzerland" due to its unique European-inspired architecture. Continue your journey through the Middle Atlas, passing the stunning cedar forest of Azrou, where you might catch a glimpse of Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. As the day draws to a close, you'll arrive in Midelt, a town nestled in the high plains of the Middle Atlas, where you'll spend the night.

2. Day 2: Midelt to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)

   On day two, your journey south towards the Sahara Desert continues. You'll pass through the awe-inspiring Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves, and have the opportunity to take in the beauty of this unique landscape. Arriving in Merzouga, a village located near the Erg Chebbi dunes, you'll be greeted by the golden sands of the Sahara. The highlight of the day awaits as you embark on a camel trek into the desert, culminating in a mesmerizing sunset over the towering dunes. Your night will be spent in a traditional desert camp, where you'll savour authentic Berber cuisine and indulge in stargazing under the Sahara's pristine night sky.

3. Day 3: Merzouga Exploration

   Wake up early on day three to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, casting a warm and ethereal glow over the desert. After breakfast, you'll have the chance to explore the dunes on foot or by 4x4 vehicle and perhaps even try your hand at sandboarding down the silky slopes. A visit to the nearby Khamlia Village offers an opportunity to experience the traditional Gnawa music and culture, deepening your immersion in the desert's unique heritage. The afternoon is yours to relax at the desert camp, partake in Berber activities, and savour local meals while surrounded by the tranquillity of the Sahara.

4. Day 4: Merzouga to Ouarzazate

   On the fourth day, it's time to bid farewell to the dunes and depart Merzouga. Your journey leads you through Erfoud, a town renowned for its fossils and stone products. You'll also pass through Tinejdad and explore the striking Todra Gorge, where towering canyon walls create a mesmerizing sight. As you traverse the Dades Valley, you'll be captivated by its unique rock formations. Your day concludes in Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," where you'll check into your accommodation and experience the allure of this movie-making hub.

5. Day 5: Ouarzazate to Marrakech

   The final leg of your journey takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a historic Kasbah featured in numerous films and TV shows. Continue your exploration by visiting the impressive Kasbah of Telouet, a former palace exuding grandeur. As you cross the High Atlas Mountains, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the mountainous landscapes. Your route will take you through the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, surrounded by majestic peaks. Finally, the adventure concludes as you arrive in Marrakech, a city renowned for its vibrant medina, bustling souks, and rich cultural attractions, marking the end of your remarkable 5-day desert journey.
