Itinerary
-
Day 1: Imlil to Sidi Chamharouch to Toubkal Refuge
This trek starts in Imlil (a village in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco at 1740m), about 65 kilometres south of Marrakech, where you will meet your team, who will take care of you during the 2 days. The muleteers take care of your luggage and we will leave in 30 minutes.
We will go through the Berber villages and the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2400m), where we will enjoy the picnic lunch. After a break, we continue our climb to Refuge Toubkal at 3207m above sea level.
Dinner and overnight at the shelter.

Day 2: Trek to Summit of Mount Toubkal
Today we get up early in the morning, have breakfast and start the climb. We walk slowly, step by step, to the place above the refuge, where we will take a break.
After 3 to 4 hours of climb, we arrive at the top of Toubkal. The Toubkal is probably one of the highest peaks of its latitude (4116 meters) the most accessible in the world. The effort is rewarded as we have a clear view of all the High Atlas. You have enough time to admire the magnificent view and to take photos.
When we return to Toubkal Refuge after the descent, we enjoy lunch, and then we take the same way to return to Imlil.
Driver will already be waiting for you to take you back to Marrakech.
