Itinerary

Visit to Essaouira from Marrakech
Start with the journey to Essaouira from your Marrakech hotel via Chichaoua post breakfast. The Essaouira road is famous for its carpets with their dominant reds, decoration with animal motifs, or stylized drawings of people. The town of Essaouira is located 75 kilometres from Marrakech, and its famous Souk (Market) day is held on Sunday.
Essaouira is surrounded by high walls and divided by the interior walls into three differentiated urban areas: the Medina, the Mullah, and the Kasbah. There are many lovely gardens within the city, creating an aura of delicious coolness where you may explore art galleries. The outstanding monuments here include the port of Marine, 1769 (the date of its construction is marked on the pediment), the Scala in the harbour – an old battery whose cannons were made in Spain, the Scala in the Kasbah-a two hundred meters long impressive platform and the sanctuary of Moulay Abdelkader al Hilal. At Essaouira, the climate is always mild because the island shelters it in the bay.
At the end of the afternoon, post-lunch, you would return to Marrakech relaxed and freshened. While the journey is 3 hours from Marrakech to Essaouira, it is one of the most serene beaches in Morocco.
