Itinerary

1. Day 1- Marrakech – Imi Oughlad Village – Tizi Oussem Village

   • Depart from Marrakech for a pleasant drive south way up through the Tizi n'Tast to arrive at the higher foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains at our trailhead of Imi Ourhlad. We exit from our vehicle and meet up with our Berber muleteer crew because it is always a fun part of any of our treks. 

   • We will set off in the northwesterly direction for a 2-hour acclimatization hike up switchback mule tracks to the Tizi n'Tacht (2,000 m), where we shall stop for a picnic lunch and admire the surrounding valleys and peaks.

   • Then, it is a slow hike for about 3 hours southwest down along mule tracks to the red clay village of Tizi Oussem (1,700 m).

2. Day 2- Tizi Oussem Village – Imlil – Marrakech

   • Once breakfast is over, we head out through pine and juniper trees to traverse the Tizi n'Tichka pass and descend slowly to reach the hamlet of M'Zik (1,806 m), where we stop for our picnic lunch amidst orchards of cherry, apple and nut trees and surrounding mountain peaks.

   • In the afternoon, we will set off down to the Berber village and continue to Imlil village, where our transportation will wait to take us back to Marrakech. Overall, it is a 6 hours trek and 1h 30m ride transfers back to Marrakech.
