Itinerary

1. Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat – Chefchaouen

   • Your exciting Morocco adventure begins in Casablanca, the country's largest city and economic hub. Start your day with a visit to the stunning Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Its towering minaret, intricate mosaics, and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean make it a must-see.
   • Next, explore the Corniche, a picturesque seaside promenade lined with cafes, restaurants, and beaches. Stroll along the waterfront and take in the refreshing sea breeze before heading to the Morocco Mall, one of the largest shopping centres in Africa.
   • After a morning of sightseeing in Casablanca, we'll drive to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Here, you will visit the Royal Palace, the official residence of the King, and the historic Kasbah of the Udayas, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its charming blue and white streets and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.
   • Lunch will be in a local restaurant in Rabat, where you can enjoy traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine or couscous.
   • In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Chefchaouen, Morocco's "Blue Pearl". Nestled in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is famous for its striking blue-washed buildings and narrow, winding streets. You will have the evening to explore this enchanting town at your leisure.

2. Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fes

   • After breakfast, spend the morning exploring Chefchaouen. Visit the Medina, the old part of the city, where you will find a vibrant mix of markets, cafes, and shops. The town's blue-painted walls and colourful doorways provide endless photo opportunities.
   • Do not miss the Plaza Uta el-Hammam, Chefchaouen's main square, where you can relax with a cup of mint tea and watch the world go by.
   • Visit the Kasbah Museum to learn about the region's history and culture, and take a leisurely walk to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view of the town and surrounding mountains.
   • In the afternoon, we will drive to Fes, one of Morocco's most ancient and fascinating cities. En route, enjoy scenic views of the Rif Mountains and the lush landscapes of northern Morocco.
   • Upon arrival in Fes, check into your riad or hotel and relax for the evening.

3. Day 3: Fes Exploration

   • Today, you will explore Fes, Morocco's cultural and spiritual heart, with a knowledgeable tour guide. Begin your day with a visit to the Fes el Bali (Old Fes) Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world's largest car-free urban areas.
   • Wander through the narrow alleys and bustling souks, where you will find everything from spices and textiles to pottery and leather goods. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University, founded in 859 AD and considered the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
   • Explore the Bou Inania Madrasa, an exquisite example of Moroccan architecture, and the Dar Batha Museum, which houses a collection of traditional Moroccan arts and crafts.
   • For lunch, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal at a local restaurant in the Medina.
   • In the afternoon, visit the Fes Mellah (Jewish Quarter) and the nearby Royal Palace, with its impressive golden gates.
   • End your day with a visit to a local tannery, where you can see the traditional leather production process.

4. Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Errachidia - Erfoud - Merzouga

   • After breakfast, we will drive to Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its Alpine-style architecture and lush, green surroundings. Here, we will stop for coffee or tea and take a short break to enjoy the town's charming atmosphere.
   • We will continue our journey to Midelt, passing through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains.
   • In Midelt, we will stop for lunch in Rich, a small town known for its delicious local cuisine.
   • In the afternoon, we will drive through the Ziz Valley, with its dramatic landscapes and palm groves, to reach Errachidia and Erfoud, a gateway to the Sahara Desert.
   • Finally, we will arrive in Merzouga, where you will experience a magical night in a nomad tent in the desert. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Sahara.

5. Day 5: Merzouga - Nomad Village - Merzouga Desert - Gnawa House - Merzouga Gardens

   • Today, you will explore the captivating Sahara Desert. Start your day with a 4x4 ride to a nomad village, where you can learn about the desert inhabitants' traditional way of life.
   • Next, venture deeper into the Merzouga Desert, with its vast dunes and breathtaking landscapes. Visit a Gnawa house, where you can enjoy the unique music and dance of the Gnawa people, descendants of African slaves brought to Morocco centuries ago.
   • For lunch, savor a delicious nomad pizza in a local restaurant. This traditional dish is made with lamb, vegetables, and spices and cooked in a clay oven.
   • In the afternoon, relax at your hotel and use the swimming pool to cool off from the desert heat.
   • In the evening, walk to the Merzouga gardens, where locals cultivate vegetables. This tranquil oasis offers a glimpse into the agricultural practices of the desert and provides a serene setting for an evening stroll.

6. Day 6: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarine - Todra Gorge - Dades

   • After breakfast, we will drive to Rissani, a historic town and former trading post. We will visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty, and explore the bustling souks, where you can find everything from spices to jewellery.
   • Next, we will drive to Alnif, passing through the rugged landscapes of southeastern Morocco.
   • In Tazarine, we will stop for a drink and to use the toilet before continuing our journey to the Todra Gorge, a stunning canyon with towering cliffs and a crystal-clear river.
   • Take some time to explore the gorge, enjoy a short hike, and marvel at the dramatic scenery. We will visit a local family in the Todra Gorge for lunch, where you can enjoy a homemade meal and experience traditional Moroccan hospitality.
   • In the afternoon, we will drive to Dades, where you will spend the night in a charming riad or hotel.

7. Day 7: Dades - Rose Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

   • Today, we will explore the beautiful Dades Valley, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs." Visit the Rose Valley, famous for its fragrant rose gardens and the annual Rose Festival. Here, you can visit a women's cooperative and taste rose tea, a local speciality.
   • Next, we will drive to Skoura, a picturesque oasis with palm groves and historic kasbahs. We will then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara" and a popular filming location for movies and TV shows.
   • We will visit the Atlas Cinema Studio, where you can see sets from famous films such as "Gladiator" and "Game of Thrones."
   • For lunch, we will drive to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most well-preserved kasbahs in Morocco. We will explore this ancient fortress and enjoy a guided tour of its maze-like streets and historic buildings.
   • In the afternoon, we will drive through the Tichka Pass, a scenic mountain pass with stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains, on our way to Marrakech.

8. Day 8: Marrakech

   • Today, you will explore the vibrant city of Marrakech with a knowledgeable tour guide. Begin your day with a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, known for its striking minaret and beautiful gardens.
   • Next, visit the Saadian Tombs, a historic royal necropolis with intricately decorated mausoleums, and the Bahia Palace, a stunning example of Moroccan architecture with lush gardens and ornate courtyards.
   • For lunch, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal at a local restaurant in the Medina.
   • In the afternoon, explore the bustling souks of Marrakech, where you can find various goods, from spices and textiles to jewellery and pottery. Visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a lively hub of activity with street performers, food stalls, and market vendors.
   • End your day with a visit to the Majorelle Garden, a tranquil oasis created by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later owned by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.

9. Day 9: Departure

   • Get transfered to the Mohammed V International Airport of Casablanca for your departure flight.
