Initially, this orphanage was at the Wilpattu National Park, then shifted to the tourist complex at Bentota and then to the Dehiwala Zoo.

Sigiriya contains the ruins of an ancient palace complex, built during King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD. The palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens, pools, and fountains. The rock rests on a steep mound and is 370m high.

The dance was propitiatory, never secular, and performed only by males. The elaborate “Ves” costume, particularly the headgear, is considered sacred and is believed to belong to the deity Kohomba.
