Siem Reap Highlights
Meet the Cambodian tour guide and driver at the lobby of your hotel at 8.00.
Head to the Pre-Angkorian temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk located about 30 kilometers to the north of the town of Kampong Thom, Cambodia. It was also known as Isanapura and was the capital of the Chenla Kingdom.
Stop for a delectable lunch.
Then, proceed to see the Kampong Kdei Bridge on the way back to Siem Reap.
Head to Kompong Khleang which is located on the northern lake-edge about 55 km east of Siem Reap town, more remote and less tourist than Kampong Pluk. Visitors to Kampong Khleang during the dry season are universally awestruck by the forest of stilted houses rising up to 10 meters in the air. In the wet season, the waters rise up to one or two meters of the buildings. Like Kompong Pluk, Kompong Khleang is a permanent community within the flood plain of the lake, with an economy based in fishing and surrounded by flooded forest.
Return to Siem Reap with the Cambodian tour guide.
