Marvel at Beng Mealea & Kampong Phluk Floating Houses
Meet your Cambodian tour guide, and driver at the lobby of your hotel at 8 am.
Go to Beng Mealea, built as a Hindu temple, but some carvings are depicting Buddhist motifs. Its primary material is sandstone, and it is largely unrestored with trees, thick brush thriving amidst its towers and courtyards, and many of its stones lying in great heaps. For years it wasn't easy to reach, but a road recently built to the temple complex of Koh Ker passes Beng Mealea, and more visitors are coming to the site, as it is 77 km from Siem Reap.
Break for lunch.
Head to the floating houses in Kampong Phluk, a village located about 25 km east of Chong Kneas. This village is only accessible by boat.
Head back to Siem Reap with your Cambodian tour guide.
