Sambor Prei Kuk, Phnom Santok & Prasat Kuh Nokor
Meet your tour guide at Siem Reap and embark on a short drive to Kampong Thom Province.
Reach Sambor Prei Kuk, home to some of Cambodia's oldest pre-Angkorian monuments. Built in the 7th century by King Isanavarman, more than 100 brick temples are scattered deep in the forest to discover and explore. During the early 70’s Sambor Prei Kuk was heavily bombed by the US air force, and some of the craters left behind from the bombings are still visible to this day.
Make your way to Phnom Santok. This ancient site nestles between the four mountains of Phnom Srah Kmao, Phnom Penhum, Phnom Champa and Phnom Santok. On top of the mountains, you will find many giant Buddha statues carved out of sandstone. Climb 802 steps to the peak to behold a stunning view of Tonle Sap Lake, surrounding rice fields and tropical rainforests.
After lunch, continue your tour to Prasat Kuh Nokor Temple. This Buddhist temple is located in Trodoc Poung and was built in the 10th and 11th century by King Suryavarman I.
Return to Siem Reap after an exhilarating tour.
