Kulen mountain - Phnom Kulen National Park
Meet your tour guide upon arrival and start your guided tour.
Start this tour with the 2-hour drive to the sacred mountains of Phnom Kulen National park. Phnom Kulen, or “mountain of the Leeches”, is a mountain chain that stretches around 400 meters in range and is about 480 meters at its highest peak.
Make your way up the mountain and arrive at Kbal Spean. Here find “The River of a Thousand Lingas”. The Stung Kbal Spean River carves its way through the dense jungle, revealing intricate carvings carved into the riverbed and banks. The carvings are primarily Hindu and dedicated to Hindu God Shiva.
Continue your trek and climb the steep steps to the top of the mountain. Here you will find Preah Ang Thom Pagoda, which houses the giant “Reclining Buddha” statue standing 8 meters high. This giant statue is the largest of its kind in Cambodia and attracts many locals and tourists alike.
Relax with a visit to Phnom Kulen National Park’s most visited attraction, the majestic waterfalls. Here you can have a spot of lunch on the river banks or, if you choose, go for a swim in the cool pools at the bottom of the waterfalls. If swimming isn’t your thing, there is also a small picnic area with shaded areas where you can relax.
Finish the tour with the drive back to Siem Reap.
