Itinerary
-
Day 1- Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve
- A briefing from your guide/driver will be provided as you depart Nairobi for the Masai Mara Game Reserve. You can stop along the way for pictures of the valley, the Suswa Mountains, and Mount Longonot. In Narok town, a typical Kenyan meal is provided before continuing to the Masai Mara.
- You will take your first game drive after a brief period of resting at your lodging within the game reserve. Here is your first opportunity to see the creatures you’ve grown to admire, and your private safari guide will assist you in finding the savanna’s greatest inhabitants.
- We advise you to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase souvenirs from the Masai locals at the park’s entrance. They make excellent presents and enable you to improve the local community’s standard of living directly.
-
Day 2- Full-Day Masai Mara Tour
- On your full-day game drive across the game reserve, you can spot more than 3 million large creatures that call the Masai Mara home. Your knowledgeable Kenyan safari guide will assist you in spotting the magnificent wildlife. He or she will be able to show you some of the most beloved species on the planet, including lions, elephants, hippos, and wildebeest. The lunch is served in a picnic-style setting as you roam the property. If you’re lucky, you might see the famous migration over the Great African Rift Valley plains or grazing herds of animals.
- In the afternoon, you can visit a Maasai community. Their culture is admired across the world for their conflicts with wild creatures and mastery of a nomadic way of life in this valley, which is the origin of humanity. The village will welcome you with performances of old-fashioned songs and dances, give you a chance to see a traditional house, and let you learn about the way of life of this unusual community. (This activity carries a $20 additional fee per person.)
-
Day 3- Departure
- An early morning game drive is possible when the Masai Mara transitions from night to dawn. A must-experience during an African safari is the dawn chorus over the savanna. After the wildlife drive, breakfast is served before starting the return trip to Nairobi.
- You’ll stop in Narok town for lunch on the way back to sample some authentic Kenyan cuisine. Depending on your intentions, you can decide whether to head straight to the airport after arriving back in Nairobi or to your hotel. You can arrange for a 5 am start on this day to suit you if you want to catch the train from Nairobi.
