Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival and Game Drive

   • Morning: Arrival
   • Arrive at Tsavo West National Park either by road or air. If you're coming from Nairobi, the drive takes around 5-6 hours.
   • Check into your accommodation and freshen up.
   • Afternoon: Game Drive
   • Head out for an afternoon game drive. Your guide will take you through the park, exploring the diverse habitats and searching for wildlife.
   • Visit attractions like the Mzima Springs, known for its crystal-clear waters and resident hippos and crocodiles.
   • Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, and other wildlife that call Tsavo West home.
   • Enjoy the beautiful sunset over the savannah before returning to your lodge for dinner.

2. Day 2: Exploration and Relaxation

   • Morning: Rhino Sanctuary and Bird Watching
   • Start your day with an early morning game drive to explore more of the park. Visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, where you can spot endangered black rhinos.
   • Tsavo West is also a paradise for bird watchers, so keep your binoculars handy and look out for various bird species.
   • Afternoon: Cultural Experience and Relaxation
   • After lunch, visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditional way of life and culture.
   • Spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or camp. Many accommodations offer swimming pools or nature walks within their premises.
   • Evening: Sundowners and Stargazing
   • Enjoy sundowners at a scenic spot within the park, watching the colours change as the sun sets.
   • After dinner, take advantage of Tsavo's minimal light pollution and indulge in some stargazing. The African night sky is a breathtaking sight.

3. Day 3: Bush Walk and Departure

   • Morning: Guided Bush Walk
   • Start your day with a guided bush walk accompanied by experienced rangers. This is a great opportunity to learn about the park's flora, fauna, and smaller wildlife up close.
   • Explore the wilderness on foot, discovering tracks, plants, and insects while enjoying the peacefulness of the bush.
   • Afternoon: Departure
   • Return to your accommodation for breakfast and check-out.
   • Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity for one last game drive before leaving the park.
   • Depart from Tsavo West, either head back to Nairobi or continue your safari adventure to other destinations.
