Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrive at JKIA and Transfer to Your Hotel

   • Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet with your driver guide and then transfer to Southern Sun Hotel in Nairobi City.

   Have dinner and overnight at your hotel.

   No activities are planned today to allow time to settle in Nairobi and prepare for their epic safari experience.

2. Day 2: Depart to Amboseli National Park

   • You will be picked up from your city hotel at 0730 hrs and driven to Amboseli National Park, arriving at the lodge at 1200 hrs.
   • There, you will have time to check in and have lunch.
   • Later on, depart for an afternoon game drive until sunset. Amboseli National Park is everyone’s classic image of East Africa: herds of great animals moving across the dusty plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro rising straight up in the background. Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain at 19,340 feet (5,895 meters). Although it is situated inside Tanzania, the best views of the mountain are from Amboseli on the Kenyan side of the border.

3. Day 3: Lake Naivasha Excursions

   • After breakfast, depart at 0630 hrs and drive onto the floor of the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Naivasha at 1130 hrs. Between 1130 hrs and 1500 hrs, you will have time to relax and enjoy the cool climate and the birds that swarm the lakeside.
   • Have lunch at the Lake Naivasha Country Club. Later, depart for a boat ride, which will take you up to Crescent Island for approximately 3 hrs. Lake Naivasha is known for its large hippo life and is the country’s second-largest freshwater lake. Bird lovers will find a haven of over 350 bird species and plenty of more common animals like antelopes, hippos, and buffalo. Those seeking an expedition of a lifetime will enjoy a fulfilling boat trip, the best way to explore the lake.

   Meals and overnight will be at Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

4. Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Bogoria Excursions

   • Depart at 0630 hrs after breakfast and drive to Lake Bogoria at approximately 0900 hrs.
   • You will be shown around for a few hours, with an early lunch. Lake Bogoria is a popular place for its hot, warm, and cold geyser springs formed due to volcanic activity. At 1200 hrs, you will depart for Lake Nakuru and arrive at approximately 1400 hrs.
   • Then, check-in at the hotel and depart for an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park until sunset. Lake Nakuru is a bird paradise with hundreds of thousands of pink flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, (White and Black) buffalo, lions, and the rare bushbuck.

   Meals and overnight are at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.

   Main destination: Lake Nakuru National Park

5. Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve

   • After breakfast, depart at 0700 hrs and drive further southwest through the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara.
   • Arrive there at 1300 hrs at the camp/hotel and have lunch.
   • Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the vast Mara Plains in search of predators such as lions with dark manes, cheetahs, leopards, and many herbivores, especially during the yearly migration of wildebeest. Maasai Mara Game Reserve covers 700 Square miles of magnificent wilderness. It is the Africa of imagination, with endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. It is the land of the African legend: lions are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Meals and overnight are at La Maison Mara Camp.

   Accommodation: Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge

   Meals and drinks: All meals included.

6. Day 6: Full Day Game Drive

   • After breakfast, depart at 0700 hrs and drive further southwest through the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara.
   • You will arrive there at 1300 hrs at the camp/hotel and have lunch.

7. Day 7: Departure to Nairobi City

   • Go for a morning game drive before breakfast at 06:30 hrs.
   • Return to the lodge at 09:00 hrs for breakfast and then depart for Nairobi for your day rooms.
   • On arrival, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home or relax for a day for your departure the next day.

   Lunch will be by your own arrangement.

   Optional excursions in Nairobi can be arranged at an extra cost.

8. Day 8: Transfer to Jomo Kenya International Airport

   • On this day, we will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
