Itinerary

1. Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha

   This tour starts in Nairobi just after breakfast. Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel and depart toward Lake Naivasha. En route, you'll make a stopover at the Mau Escarpment viewpoint, from where you'll be treated to sweeping views of the floor of the Rift Valley below, L. Naivasha, and Mt. Longonot. This outpost is excellent for photo ops! You'll then continue your descent to Lake Naivasha, arriving around noon with ample time for check-in and lunch.
   Later in the afternoon, you'll embark on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see the abundant freshwater marine life, including many bird species, hippos, and the occasional grazers near the shorelines. Your boat tour guide will explain the lake's economic importance to the local community and its critical role in biodiversity.
   Ahoy! You will return to shore in the early evening, from where your driver-guide will drop you off at Naivasha Kongoni Lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at the lodge.

2. Day 2: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara NR

   You will have breakfast early and check out early on this day. You'll visit Hell's Gate National Park for a scenic drive. While the park has a low population of scattered wildlife (mainly herbivores), it has picturesque scenery and rock formations, including towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub-clad volcanoes, and belching plumes of geothermal steam."Hell's Gate" annotates the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, and even features a naturally-heated geothermal spa.
   Later, you'll drive toward Masai Mara, arriving at Osero Lodge in time for check-in and lunch. Just as the heat dissipates in the afternoon, we'll head out for a game drive until the evening. Our seasoned driver-guide will ensure you make the most of it; chances are over 80% that you'll spot the Big Five. Just before sunset, return to a laid-back atmosphere at Osero Lodge for dinner and overnight.

3. Day 3: All Day Game Drive

   You'll wake up to an early breakfast and departure into the Masai Mara National Reserve. Bring your camera, and we'll also have a pair of binoculars on board to help with distant sightings. As you'll be on safari most of the day, the lodge will pack a picnic lunch to ensure an uninterrupted game drive. If you wish to return earlier, you can return to the lodge at around 4 p.m. to cool off at the pool in the bamboo woods surrounding Osero Lodge. You can have some relaxation time until it is time for dinner.
   After dinner, you can relax, drink at the bar (not included in the safari cost), and perhaps even catch up with other travellers.

4. Day 4: Masai Mara - Back to Nairobi

   Breakfast will be served between 7 and 7:45 a.m., after which you will check out.
   Go on a Maasai village visit from 8:45 a.m. to 10 a.m., just as you exit the Masai Mara National Reserve. A cultural visit gives you an insight into the Maasai people's way of life. This nomadic community has co-existed with the Masai Mara's wildlife since first settling in the Transmara region.
   Later, drive to Nairobi with a drop-off at the hotel or airport in the afternoon. We'll stop for lunch or refreshments on the way (the cost is not included in the package).
