Itinerary
-
Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West Safari
Your expert driver/guide from Jossec Tours and Safaris will pick you up at 7:00 am from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or airport for the drive along the Nairobi/Mombasa Highway.
We will have dinner and spend the night here before proceeding to its sister park, Tsavo East.
You will know when you have arrived at Tsavo West National Park by the vast sweep of the plains and the endless sky.
You cannot miss the elephants here. The park hosts the largest population of the noble pachyderms in Kenya.
At the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, you can see some of the 80 endangered rhinos that live there in protected conditions.
A visit to nearby Mzima Springs, with its million litres of sparkling water, will bring us up close to more elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife, such as zebras.
The landscapes in this park always fascinate with their baobab trees and volcanic remnants.
Tsavo West is a safari paradise, from acacia woodland to rugged desert and views of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro.
-
Day 2: Exploring Tsavo West and Journey to Tsavo East
We will have a morning game drive to Kenya’s largest park on our second safari day.
Here, you will also be amazed by the herds of red-dust elephants – rolling in the oxide soil and turning themselves a dusky shade of red.
Watch for large herds of giraffes and the Big Five among the grasslands and savannah.
Plus, down at the Galana River bisecting the park, you will find hippos, crocodiles, and waterbuck.
The park is also known for its outstanding geological formations.
Mudanda Rock, a natural dam, creates a watering hole where you will likely spot thirsty elephants.
You will never forget the Yatta Plateau, which has the most extended lava flow in the world at 300 km.
-
Day 3: Final Safari in Tsavo East and Departure to Mombasa Beach
- But we are not done with Tsavo East just yet!
- We will take one last game drive through this massive park on our way to the Coast.
