Itinerary
-
Day 1- Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
- Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading north towards the scenic Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a drive of approximately 3-4 hours.
- Located on the foothills of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta is known for its rich biodiversity and commitment to conservation.
- Arrive at your lodge in Ol Pejeta in time for lunch and settle in.
- After a brief rest, embark on your first afternoon game drive across the conservancy. Ol Pejeta is famous for its black rhino sanctuary, the largest in East Africa, and is home to a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and giraffes.
- You may also see some of the last remaining northern white rhinos in a special protected area.
- During your game drive, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees.
- This sanctuary provides a safe haven for rescued and orphaned chimpanzees, allowing you a unique chance to learn about these intelligent primates and the challenges they face.
- In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and relax in the peaceful surroundings of Ol Pejeta.
- Enjoy the stunning views and perhaps spot some wildlife from the comfort of your accommodation.
Overnight at your Ol Pejeta lodge, preparing for a full day of exploration tomorrow.

Day 2- Ol Pejeta to Masai Mara National Reserve
- After an early breakfast at your lodge in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, check out and set off for the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, a drive of approximately 5-6 hours.
- Along the way, you’ll enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Kenya, passing small towns, rolling hills, and expansive farmlands.
- Arrive at your lodge in the Masai Mara in time for lunch.
- After a brief rest and settling in, embark on an afternoon game drive to begin exploring the iconic Mara.
- Known for its vast savannahs and abundant wildlife, the Masai Mara is one of the best places to see the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros—as well as other animals like cheetahs, zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes.
- Depending on the season, you might witness the Great Migration (from July to October), when millions of wildebeests and zebras make their perilous crossing over the Mara River, a sight of survival and drama as they navigate crocodile-filled waters. If not during the migration season, the Mara still offers an unforgettable wildlife experience, with diverse animals found throughout the year.
- As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening, perhaps unwinding by the campfire or stargazing under the African sky.
