Itinerary

Day 1- Nairobi to Nyeri via Sagana
- Departure: Begin your journey with a scenic drive from Nairobi to Nyeri via Thika Superhighway.
- Stopover at Sagana (Savage Wilderness): Enjoy an adrenaline rush with water rafting and zip-lining.
- Lunch in Karatina: After your adventures, continue to Karatina for lunch or local bitings.
- Karatina Market Visit: Stroll through Kenya’s largest open-air market to see the vibrant local produce and crafts.
- Drive to Nyeri: Enjoy a short, picturesque drive to Nyeri, passing lush farmlands and scenic views.
- Evening: Check into your hotel for an overnight stay and unwind.
Day 2- Explore Aberdare National Park
- Morning: After breakfast, set off for Aberdare National Park, renowned for its dense forests, breathtaking waterfalls, and historical significance.
- Game Drive & Sightseeing: Go on a guided game drive to spot unique wildlife and visit Karuru and Chania Falls.
- Guided Walk in Freedom Fighters’ Caves: Discover the history of Kenya’s independence as you walk through the caves once used by Mau Mau fighters. A highlight is “The Kimathi Post,” an iconic spot where freedom fighters exchanged messages.
- Optional Activities: Take time for birding, nature photography, or a peaceful picnic at the moorlands.
- Evening: Head back to Nyeri for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3- Hike and Local Exploration
- Early Morning: Embark on a thrilling hike up Satima Hill or the Elephant Hill (7-hour hike, starting at Njabini Gate). Note: A KWS guide is required for the hike.
- Baden-Powell Museum: In the afternoon, explore the museum dedicated to Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts movement, and learn about his connection to Nyeri.
- Departure: Begin your drive back to Nairobi with beautiful memories of your Nyeri and Aberdare adventure.
