Welcome to Dazaifu Tenmangu, enshrining Sugawara Michizane, or Tenjin, the deity of learning, culture, and the arts. Dazaifu Tenmangu welcomes more than 10 million visitors a year. It is one of Japan’s most important Shinto shrines, the head of 12,000 Tenjin shrines nationwide, and one of the top places to visit in Fukuoka. The shrine and its surroundings are ancient, but its approach to art is timeless, working with international artists to create a rich program of cutting-edge art events and blending the spiritual and creative in a unique environment open to all.

Yunotsubo Kaido (Time Required: 1.5 Hours, 11:30 AM - Lunch & Free Walk 4 Hours)
*The bus will wait for you in our private parking lot. From there, you will explore the sights on foot.
Yunotsubo Kaido Street runs through the center of the popular hot spring town of Yufuin, leading from Yufuin Station to Lake Kinrinko. It takes about 20 minutes to cover the distance without lingering, but there are enough interesting shops, cafes, and galleries to merit an hour or two of strolling. The buildings lining the street are low-rise and mostly traditional in appearance. Mt. Yufu rises above the street, adding to the picturesque setting. It is a nice place to wander sample some local delicacies, coupled with a walk around the lake, and a relaxing soak in one of the area's many hot springs.

*If you are staying in Yufuin, you can get off at Yufuin.
[Dinner Transportation Not Included]
Our plan does not include transportation after dinner. If you finish earlier than scheduled, our driver may be able to take you to the dinner location (depending on the time). However, waiting until after your dinner and then dropping you off at your hotel is not included in the plan. *You will have to pay on-site, but if you are arranging a taxi to pick you up, an interpreter-guide may be able to assist you. Please understand the above contract terms.
