Rockland Bird Sanctuary was started by Lisa Salmon, an English lady who lived in Jamaica. After retiring, she bought a piece of land in the hills near Montego Bay. She was passionate about birds and began feeding them at a certain time each day. She started feeding the hummingbirds with a small bottle filled with sugar water, and after a while, they became so used to her that they began to rest on her finger. This is the only place in the world where you can experience feeding a hummingbird from a bottle while it is resting on your finger.
