DNA Divers by Apogon is an amateur sports association founded in the late 90s by the idea of ​​Graziano Trovato, a sea enthusiast since birth.
With “Dei Normali Amici” passionate divers and professional instructors and guides, he creates a team and works in the tourism sector – recreational and technical – commercial, in the dissemination and knowledge of the sea, respecting nature and discovering its seabed.Over the years, in addition to dedicating themselves to the training of new divers, to making their members experience unforgettable moments, they have actively participated in numerous projects, including the AKIS project of underwater archaeology collaborating with the “Superintendence of the Sea” of the Sicily region, the Port Authority, and the diving unit of the Coast Guard for the research and recovery of amphorae and their musealization.
Experts in the seabed of their home spot Acitrezza (CT), where the Marine Protected Area "ISOLA CICLOPI" is located, they address a wide audience of future enthusiasts, from children to adults: they offer diving service services, courses for all levels, guided tours, sea baptisms and snorkeling throughout the gulf from Acicastello to Acireale, to make known and discover the fantastic location.The Faraglioni of Acitrezza, the most suggestive place in the gulf of Catania, also known as the Cyclops Islands, are the underwater volcanic geosite among the most interesting on earth, formed even before Etna by underwater eruptions that gave life to the island LACHEA.During underwater excursions to the Faraglioni, you can admire the very particular PILLOW LAVAS and the COLUMNARY BASALTS, unique glimpses and ravines, cliffs, caves and walls rich in biodiversity.
