Herculaneum Walking Tour
Meet the Italian guide at the ticket office of Herculaneum ruins.
Visit Herculaneum, an ancient Roman town. Highlights here include the waterfront where more than 300 remains were found, Marina Gate, the terrace of Marcus Nonius Balbus, Samnite House, thermal baths, the Forum, House of Neptune and Amphitrite, Gymnasium, Northern Cardo (road oriented north-south), House of the skeleton, Thermopolium, Temple of Augustales, House of the Black Saloon, House of Bel Cortile, House of the Wooden Partition and a local bakery. Herculaneum is one of the few ancient cities to be preserved more or less intact, with no later accretions or modifications. Like its sister city, Pompeii, Herculaneum is famous for having been buried in lava and ash.
