Explore the Bargello building as a National Museum which began in the mid-19th century. Today it is the setting for works of sculpture, especially from large ducal collections, Gothic decorative minor arts and many important sculptures of Michelangelo and Donatello. Museum Tour
Explore the ground floor rooms which have Tuscan 16th century works, focusing in particular on four masterpieces by Michelangelo: Bacchus, the relief depicting a Madonna with Child, Brutus and David-Apollo.
Then, see the works of Andrea Sansovino Jacopo Sansovino, Baccio Bandinelli, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Benvenuto Cellini, Giambologna up with his admirable Mercury. There many other treasures: works of art enriched by Carrand collections, Ressman and Franchetti. From ivories that include several Roman and Byzantine examples, up to medieval glazes and porcelain from Limoges, German and French gold works, Renaissance jewels and even Islamic examples of bronze works.
Move to second floor which is dedicated to the glazed terracotta done by Andrea and Giovanni Della Robbia, in addition to displaying the bronze David and the Lady with Posy by Verrocchio and extraordinary collection of busts.
