Itinerary

1. Day 1- Tehran to Hamedan

   • After arriving at the Imam Khomeini Airport, drive to Hamedan.

   • Visit the tomb of Esther and Mordechai.

   • Later, visit Hegmataneh archaeological site.

   Overnight in Hamedan.

2. Day 2- Kabudar Ahang village

   • Drive 100 km north of Hamedan to visit Ali Sadr Cave, the world's largest cave.

   Overnight in the village.

3. Day 3- Hamedan - Kermanshah

   • Drive 200 km westward to Kermanshah from Hamedan.

   • Visit the Anahita temple –the mother goddess of abundance and guardian of water in ancient Persia.

   • Continue driving through the old caravan route to Bistoon, which dates back to the Middle Paleolithic. 

   Overnight in Kermanshah.

4. Day 4- Kermanshah

   • In Kermanshah, visit the Sassanian rock carvings of Tagh-e-Bastan. These bas-reliefs, cut from the stone cliff, depict royal scenes of battles and hunts reflecting the glorious history of the Sassanid Kings.

   • Visit Abidar park in the evening.

   Overnight at Kermanshah.

5. Day 5- Kermanshah - Sanandaj - Oranamat

   • Drive to Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province.  

   • In Sanandaj, visit old bazaars and the Hajar Khatoon Mosque which is architecturally a unique and ancient Muslim mosque.

   • Later, drive to Oranamat Takht village. 

   Dinner and overnight at Oranamat Takht village.

6. Day 6- Oranamat - Takab - Kandovan

   • Drive to Takab.

   • Visit the famous historical complex, Takht-e-Soleiman, situated in the northeast of the city.

   • Drive to Kandovan.

7. Day 7- Kandovan - Tabriz

   • Drive to Tabriz and visit the Azerbaijan Museum.

   • Continue driving and visit Shahriar tomb and Kabood mosque.

   Overnight in Tabriz.

8. Day 8- Tabriz

   • Head to Saint Mary Church of Tabriz.

   • Drive for 2 hours to visit Urmia lake, an endorheic salt lake in Iran.

   Overnight in Tabriz.

9. Day 9- Tabriz - Sarein

   • Drive to Sarein and observe rural nomadic life in Sarain villages.

   Overnight in Sarein.

10. Day 10- Sarein - Astara - Anzali

    • Drive to Rasht. En-route visit Astara valley.

    • Visit the virgin jungles and go to the beach near Anzali.

11. Day 11- Rasht

    • Visit Gilan Rural Heritage Museum.

    Overnight in Rasht.

12. Day 12- Rasht - Qazvin

    • Drive to Qazvin. En route visit Soltaniyeh - UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

    • Upon arrival, walk around Qazvin and visit the Safavid Palace.

    Overnight stay in Qazvin.

13. Day 13- Alamut

    • Go on a full day excursion at Assassins Castle, which is a mountain fortress located in Alamut region.

14. Day 14- Alamut - Airport

    • Spend some free time in the village before departing to the International Airport.
