Kochi City Tour
Meet your tour guide at your hotel in the morning and proceed with your tour.
Make your way to the Hill Palace Museum. Explore royal paintings, weapons, sculptures and ancient coins.
Admire the hypnotic Chinese fishing nets, said to have been brought by traders from the court of Kubla Khan between 1350 and 1450 AD. They are shore operated lift nets and watching local fishermen fish in the Arabian sea with these nets is a sight to behold.
Visit the Santa Cruz Basilica, built in 1558 with distinct Portuguese architectural influences.
See the Jewish Synagogue of Kochi, dating back to 1568. There is a Jew Town around the Jewish Synagogue renowned for its spice and handicraft shops where you may shop for souvenirs.
Marvel at the Mattanchery Palace, built and gifted by the Portuguese as a present to the king of Cochin around 1545. See beautiful Kerala-style museums, learn how the royals lived and explore the royal temples.
In the evening, witness a splendid traditional Kathakali performance. Observe how dancers use bright make-up, colourful costumes and eye and body gestures to narrate mythological stories. The entire concert will be supported with an English commentary.
