Itinerary

Day 1 - Kullu & Great Himalayan National Park
- Early morning flight / Volvo Bus to the Kullu valley.
- Drive in 4WD jeeps on the rugged terrain till Neuli, which is one of the gateways of the Great Himalayan National park.
- From here, it’s a small 3-hour hike to Chengah campsite, keeping the first day to relax and get into the rhythm.
- Hot lunch will be served at the campsite.
- O/N Chengah Campsite.

Day 2 - Shakti Village
- Chengah Campsite to Shakti village.
- On the first day, you have a moderate ascent to Shakti, which acclimatises the trekkers for the trek.
- We cover a distance of almost 22 Kms going along the Sainj Nala on to Shakti at 2100 meters.

Day 3 - Humkhani Forest Campsite
- Shakti Village to Humkhani Forest campsite (2800 meters) at lower meadow bridge in Humkhani forest.
- This forest is home to the endangered king of the birds, “the Western Tragopan". In the villages close to The Great Himalayan National Park, the local name of Western Tragopan is Jujurana (Juju means bird and rana means king), i.e. the king of the birds. There is a local legend that the Lord created this pheasant, and all the birds in the universe donated a feather each to give it colour and unparalleled beauty. Though rare, with luck, we might see them.

Day 4 - Dhel Thatch
- Humkhani Forest Campsite to Dhel Thatch (3737 meters).
- Climb uphill through a thick forest to the magnificent Dhel Thatch. The thatch is a beautiful high and wide meadow. There are great mountain vistas and opportunities for observing wildlife. The trek halts here for a rest day to explore the wildlife and the surroundings.

Day 5 - Dhel Thatch Rest Day
- Our day hikes would be spent on ascent through dense forest, walnut trees, medicinal herbs, etc.
- We would also visit the Jogni (outdoor prayer site) to have a magnificent view of the peaks of the GHNP.
- O/n camping.

Day 6 - Dhel Thatch to Ghuntarao (3500 metres)
- We cover a distance of almost 15 km, climbing up to a higher elevation at 4120 meters and then descending to our next campsite at Ghuntarao (3500 meters).
- O/n in Camp.

Day 7 - Rest Day in Ghuntarao
- Rest day in Ghuntarao to explore the surroundings and bird watching near the campsite.
- O/n Camping.

Day 8 - Ghuntatro to Shilt (3100 metres)
- Today we travel a moderate up and down from Ghuntarao to the beautiful campsite at Shilt (3100 metres)
- A great day to explore the flora and fauna of the Great Himalayan National Park.
- O/N Camping.

Day 9 - Shilt to Rolla
- This is a small day downhill through a very thick forest full of Monal Pheasant (a large plump pheasant with a loud, ringing call. It is a prominent bird and the state bird of Himachal and often seen by the tourists and trekkers).
- Evening campfire with local dance performed by the staff accompanying you on the trek.
- O/n in Rolla.

Day 10 - Rolla to Goshaini (1500 meters)
- Trek a distance of 13 Kms and the rest by jeep to bring us back to civilisation.
- Afternoon arrival from the trek to Raju's Lodge, one of the best and oldest in the Tirthan valley.
- Evening would be spent having a trout bonfire.
- Departure by Volvo Bus to Delhi.
