Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival at Thekkady

   • Arrival: Reach Thekkady, either by road from Cochin (approx. 4 hours) or Madurai (approx. 3 hours).
   • Check-in: At a hotel or eco-resort near the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
   • Leisure time: Relax and enjoy the natural beauty, with options to explore the spice plantations (cardamom, pepper, cinnamon).
   • Evening: You can opt for a Kathakali performance (traditional Kerala dance form) or a Kalaripayattu martial arts show.

2. Day 2: Exlore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

   • Morning Nature Walk / Bamboo Rafting: Start the day with a morning guided nature walk or bamboo rafting inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve. These activities provide great opportunities to spot wildlife like elephants, sambar deer, langurs, and tigers.
   • Enjoy your breakfast at the resort.
   • Periyar Lake Boat Ride: A boat safari on Periyar Lake offers a scenic view of the sanctuary. You can see herds of elephants, bison, and various bird species.
   • Lunch: Return to your resort for lunch.

3. Day 3: Departure from Thekkady

   • Morning Jeep Safari: For a last wildlife adventure, opt for a jeep safari through the sanctuary or visit the Mangala Devi Temple (seasonal access).
   • Breakfast & Check-out: After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
   • Departure: Return to your next destination, Cochin or Madurai.
