Itinerary
-
Day 1- Visit the Agra Fort, Baby Taj and the Mehtab Bagh
- Meet your tour guide, who will pick you up from Delhi International Airport (or from your hotel in Delhi) and drive to the city of love, Agra.
- Check in at your hotel and get ready to visit the following places:
- Agra Fort- a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638 when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Before its capture by the British, the last Indian rulers to have occupied it were the Marathas. (1 hour, entrance fee not included)
- Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah- The monument is a highly ornate edifice. This mausoleum is considered an imminent precursor of the Taj Mahal as far as the carvings and the inlay work is concerned. The structure of Itmad ud Daulah is much different from the earlier Mughal tombs built during this period. (2 hours, entrance fee not included)
- Mehtab Bagh- It is a charbagh complex lying north of the Taj Mahal complex and the Agra Fort on the opposite side of the Yamuna River, in the flood plains. The garden complex, square in shape, measures about 300 by 300 metres and is perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank. During the rainy season, the ground becomes partially flooded. (1 hour, entrance fee not included)
Head to your accomodation in Agra.

Day 2- Head to the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri
- Visit the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 17-hectare complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a crenellated wall. (entrance fee not included)
- Head to Fatehpur Sikri, a town in the Agra District of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city was founded as the capital of the Mughal Empire in 1571 by Emperor Akbar, serving this role from 1571 to 1585, when Akbar abandoned it due to a campaign in Punjab and was later completely abandoned in 1610. (3 hours; entrance fee not included)
