Sightseeing in the Old City of Jerusalem
- Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location in Jerusalem and transfer by car to Jaffa Gate, one of the eight gates that take you into the old city.
- Explore the Broad wall, the ancient defensive wall made in the late eighth century BCE. Then, walk to the most significant site in the world for the Jewish people: the Western Wall.
- Pay a visit to the Tower of David and learn why and how it became so emblematic to the city. Also, make your way to the two-storey structure of David's Tomb, known as the site of the Last Supper.
- Marvel at the exquisite Abbey of Dormition, which holds deep significance for followers of Christianity.
- Visit the Roman Cardo, used for centuries as the main street of the city where most commercial and social activities took place. Then, proceed to take a walk around the modern shopping area, where you will learn about various cultural objects used in Judaism for centuries and admire some beautiful examples of Jewish modern art.
- Make your way to the Temple Mount, known to Muslims as the Haram esh-Sharif (the Noble Sanctuary). For centuries, this site has been venerated as a holy site by members of the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities. It features many adornments that date back to the early Ummayyad period.
- Enjoy a scrumptious meal at Haram esh-Sharif and enjoy a short rest break.
- Go to the Mount of Olives, one of the most prominent sites mentioned in the Holy Scriptures.
- Visit the Gethsemane/Church of All Nations, which is undoubtedly one of the most impressive sites of Jerusalem. First, bask in the shadow of ancient olive trees. Then, visit the enchanting Tomb of the Virgin Mary.
- Make your way to Via Dolorosa and end your tour by enjoying a rooftop view of the Mount of Olives from the Austrian Hospice.
