Shalom! My name is Arik Haglili and I give private tours in Israel.I would like to tell you a little about myself and how I became to be a private tour guide.Well, I was born and raised in Israel.I would guess that is the reason why I am so passionate when I give private tours or Family Tours to groups all over Israel.I like ‘to spice’ my guidance with personal testimonials and stories and all this with an eloquent and fluent English that I had obtained while I was living a year plus in NYC.My Spanish is very good as well since my B.A is in Spanish and Latin American studies.Since the 2nd year of my degree, all the courses were given to me in the Spanish language, so I have no problem giving private tour guides in Spanish as well.Since 2006, I have been working as a tour guide.The first professional course I took in the field was in ‘Yad-Vashem’ that gave me the tools to be a great private tour guide.This extensive course about the Holocaust made me extremely knowledgeable about this period and also to fall in love with guiding people.After working for five years in ‘Yad-Vashem’ with various and heterogeneous groups, I had decided to professionalize in the field and to be a licensed private tour guide by the ministry of tourism.The 2 years course allowed me to deepen my knowledge about the amazing history of the land of Israel and also to understand that this is my calling.During the private tour guide course, I also received a Master of Arts degree in the land of Israel studies that was granted by the University of Haifa.This Master of Arts degree had broadened my knowledge base to an ever greater extent.In the future, I plan to do my doctoral degree that would focus on the period of the British mandate in Israel.
