Description
A unique two-hour experience for visitors to Ireland offers a fantastic insight into Dublin's history and musical heritage for the ultimate two-for-one tour. The two-mile route is along Dublin's most historic neighbourhood with stops such as Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle, The Olympia theatre, the Molly Malone statue, Temple Bar, the river Liffey and Viking Dublin. Each stop then has a famous song explained and performed by a professional singer and qualified tour guide in Georgian character costume to add a real sense of drama to this living history tour. This is the only tour of its kind in all of Ireland. It is becoming very popular with tour groups, especially those interested in music and looking for something different on their holiday to Ireland. Groups can join in on the singing section for extra fun but are not obliged to if so wished.

Musical History Tour
- This exciting and original tour starts in the foyer of Leonardo Hotel, Christ Church in Dublin 8. You will be greeted by the tour manager and owner, who will inform you about the experience over the following two hours.
- Stop 1: The tour will depart to its first location, which will be in the gardens of Christ Church Cathedral across the road from the hotel. This is where you will learn about the first song and its relevance to the location.
- Stop 2: The tour will then progress down Dame Street, our second selected location, to the historic Dublin Castle, where the song will celebrate Ireland’s struggle for Independence in the 1900s, in which Dublin Castle played a pivotal role.
- Stop 3: We will continue along Dame Street to the statue of Dublin’s most notorious daughter Molly Malone where we will learn this world-famous song.
- Stop 4: The tour then proceeds back to the other side of Dame Street to Ireland’s most famous musical theatre, the Olympia, where we will hear one of Dublin’s most renowned musical theatre ballads.
- Stop 5: The tour moves into Temple Bar back on to the Quays of the River Liffey to learn about the sad history of Emigration to the New World with one of the songs dedicated to this.
- Stop 6: We will finish the tour on our last stop in Viking and Medieval Dublin, where you will hear about the Viking settlement in Wood Quay, what was found and how the Vikings lived in the city. The guide will show you some of the artifacts found and finish with a song or two. The guide might even throw in a few ghost stories for good measure. This is where we finish the tour and say our final goodbyes.
