Escape from the clamour of the bustling city to a lush and quiet region of Kalimantan. Visit orangutans in the wild, trek to the primary jungle of the Meratus Mountains & peek into the Museum of Central Kalimantan Province. Explore the traditional diamond mines in Cempaka village, observe flora and fauna as you hike through these enchanting forests and ride a bamboo raft over the Amandit River. Wander through the Giant Cave and enjoy a sunset cruise in Banjarmasin before returning to the airport.
Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Tjilik Riwut Palangkaraya Airport
- Receive a pick-up at Tjilik Riwut Airport and transfer to your hotel in Palangkaraya.

Day 2: Visit orangutans in the wild and explore nature
- After breakfast, leave for the west coast to the forest by car.
- Then, board your motorboat (Klotok) for visiting orangutans in the wild on a 3-hour round trip with your Indonesian safari tour guide. You may see hornbill birds (the Kalimantan original bird) fly over you or meet crocodiles if you are lucky.
- Back to the port and check-in to Bourgenville Villa to get rest and have lunch.
- In the afternoon, visit another area of orangutans on your motorboat. In this area, you may also see Macaque or Proboscis monkeys.
- Enjoy bird watching and wildlife.

Day 3: Transfer to Banjarmasin
- Transfer down to Banjarmasin on a 4-5 hours drive.
- En-route, visit the Museum of Central Kalimantan Province.
- 20 km before arriving in Banjarmasin down the Barito Bridge, take a motorboat to visit the Island inhabitant by the long-nosed monkeys (Proboscis).
- Continue to Banjarmasin after spending 2 hours here.
- Overnight at Summer Bed and Breakfast Hotel (B, L, D).

Day 4: Visit diamond mines, Nagara and Loksado
- Drive about 200 km northeast to Loksado, the Meratus Mountains.
- On the way, visit Diamond Mines in Cempaka village, an hour's drive from Banjarmasin. Stop to visit the traditional diamond mines to observe the process and see how it works.
- Continue the drive to the last town named Kandangan.
- After lunch, leave for Nagara, a low land unique village on the swamp (a village on the water). Nagara was also well known as Banjarmasin 50 years ago.
- At 3 pm, board your motorboat to visit the traditional blacksmiths here, where 30% of the population makes swords, knives, and other tools to sail to the south, central, and East Kalimantan.
- On the way back, if the water is high enough and if you are lucky, you can see the "swimming buffaloes" along the swamp river banks on this lowland.
- Back to Nagara, and transfer 50 km to Loksado (on the Meratus mountain).
- Overnight at a local house. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Trek on the Meratus mountainous
- After breakfast, you will be picked up by motorbikes, which will ride you uphill, past terrains and cross rivers by suspended wooden bridges, and past isolated villages along the way to the last village where you will start hiking.
- Trek for 7 hours on a round trip through the mountains into the primary jungle.
- On the way back, go swimming down the waterfall.
- Overnight at a local house. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Trek on the Meratus mountainous
- Walk for 5 hours downhill into the rain forest of the Meratus mountains, enjoying the peaceful beauty and wildlife of the surroundings.
- After lunch, continue walking to the village for boarding your bamboo raft.
- Raft down the wild water of the rapids of the Amandit river. This 'bamboo rafting' will be one of your most memorable experiences.
- On the way back, you may see lizards (iguanas), monkeys, birds, etc., in the wildlife.
- Upon arrival, enjoy more bamboo rafting, and continue to drive up to the Meratus resort, where you will stay the night (B, L, D).

Day 7: Visit the Giant Cave and back to Banjarmasin
- Drive back down to Banjarmasin for 4-5 hours.
- On the way, stop by the Giant Cave, which is covered with stalagmites and stalactites. You will spend about 2 hours here before continuing to Banjarmasin.
- In the afternoon, visit “The Venice Of The East” in Banjarmasin.
- After that, enjoy a sightseeing sunset cruise on a motorboat along the small river in Banjarmasin.
- Overnight in the hotel in Banjarmasin. (B, L)

Day 8: Visit the Floating market before transfer to the airport
- Visit the Floating Market (Lokbaintan village outside of Banjarmasin) with your local guide.
- Get picked up from the hotel at 05:00 am.
- Board a motorboat and cruise up the Martapura River, pass some villages along the riverbank, observing the lives of people who live by each side of the river.
- After an hour, you will be surprised by hundreds of canoes floating down the slow stream.
- Witness the business between farmers and traders, which is unique as it happens in the middle of the river.
- Back to your hotel at 8:30 for breakfast, followed by a transfer to the airport.
