Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Medan
- Warm greetings from our nature guide after pick-up at the airport or hotel in Medan. Then proceed to Penyabungan or Sipirok, with an estimated drive of 9 to 10 hours from the airport or Medan.
- Find a hotel in Sipirok or Penyabungan for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Spot Tapanuli orangutans
- Start the first activity after breakfast and check out the hotel by walking to the path entering the Batang Toru protected forest area to look for Tapanuli orangutans in the wild and explore the opportunity to see the nesting site. This path has been recorded as one of the areas where orangutans are. The duration of tracking activities in the forest is around 4-6 hours.
- At 20.30pm: Dinner at the base camp built non-permanently by our team or tent.

Day 3: Batang Toru Forest area
- At 05.30 -7.00am: Light breakfast in the tent and continue to the orangutan nesting site to try to explore how these primates start their day. All trekking is based on the last sighting location and new nesting sites, but it is not guaranteed to see Tapanuli orangutans in the wild because they are actively moving in the lowland or highland dipterocarp rainforest in this undisturbed Batang Toru Forest area.
- In this trekking, besides seeing Tapanuli orangutans, it also includes bird watching, we can also see other potential wildlife such as Hornbill,song birds, deer, gibbons, macaques, slow lorises, binturongs, raptors and other wildlife.
- In the evening after dinner in the tent, continue with a short tracking at night to see nocturnal wildlife closer to the base camp.
- Our nature guide will take you through the protected forest to learn about native flora, rare primates and reptiles, as well as exotic birds that live at night. The duration of the activity is around 1.5 - 2 hours.

Day 4: Return
- 05.30 - 7.30 Am: Breakfast and continue trekking to the return path and along the way home if there is a chance of the corpse flower blooming we will see or look for giant flowers of the Amorphophallus type. There are also giant trees such as the Koompassia excelsa tree, and several types of ficus trees. The duration of the activity is around 5 - 7 hours.
- Upon arrival at the Sipirok or Penyabungan, the tour finish and continues back to Medan or Transfer out to the Airport
