Day Before the Hike
- 8:00 PM: Prepare your hiking gear, including warm clothing, comfortable shoes, water, and a flashlight or headlamp. Ensure you have a small backpack for personal items.
- 10:00 PM: Early bedtime is recommended to rest well before the early morning starts.
Hike Day
- 1:30 AM: Pickup from your hotel. The exact time may vary depending on your hotel's location in Bali. Ensure you have everything you need and wear comfortable clothing.
- 3:00 AM: Arrive at the starting point of the hike near the base of Mount Batur. Meet your guide, receive a brief orientation, and start the hike.
- 3:15 AM - 5:30 AM: Begin your ascent. The hike is moderately challenging and takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. The path gets steeper and rougher as you near the summit.
- 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM: Reach the summit. Find a good spot to settle and witness the stunning sunrise over Bali. The views here are spectacular, with a panoramic vista of the surrounding mountains and Lake Batur.
- 6:30 AM - 7:00 AM: Enjoy a simple breakfast at the summit. Typical offerings include boiled eggs cooked with the steam from the volcano's geothermal activity, bread, and bananas.
- 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Begin your descent. The return trek is usually faster but requires caution as the volcanic ash can be slippery.
- 9:00 AM: Arrive back at the starting point. Take a moment to rest and perhaps change into fresh clothes if you brought some along.
- 9:30 AM: Depart for your hotel.
- 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Arrive back at your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and recuperating from the early morning adventure.
