Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Medan
- 09:00: Arrive at Medan Airport. Depart for Parapat via Tebing Tinggi, passing through rubber tree plantations, palm oil plantations, and scenic villages.
- We will make a stop in Siantar for shopping at the Paten Shop, also known as Ting Ting, Teng Teng, or Tang Tang, where you can purchase local products.
- Afterward, visit the Dewi Kwan In Statue.
- Finally, transfer to Parapat View Hotel for check-in and overnight stay. (Meals: Lunch/Dinner)
Day 2: Samosir Island Tour
- 09:00: After breakfast, transfer to the jetty to board the boat to Samosir Island.
- Visit Tomok Village to explore the Tomb of King Sidabutar and the Sigale-gale Statue.
- Next, depart for Siallagan Village to see the famous Stone Chair.
- Afterward, enjoy some shopping before heading back to Parapat for lunch.
- Following lunch, continue the journey to Brastagi via Simarjarunjung, stopping at Bukit Indah Simarjarunjung to take in the stunning views of Lake Toba.
- Continue to Sipiso-piso Waterfall for a refreshing sight.
- Upon arrival in Brastagi, visit the Brastagi Fruit Market to purchase local products and fresh fruits.

Day 3: City Tour Medan
- 09:00: After breakfast, continue the journey to Medan City, making a stop at the Shewedagon Lumbini Park.
- Upon arrival in Medan, visit the iconic Maimun Palace and the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque, both landmarks of the city.
- Next, head to Kesawan Deli and Graha Annai Velangkani before enjoying some shopping for souvenirs and local products, such as Bika Ambon, Lapis Legit, and Bolu Meranti.

2. Strolling Through Tuktuk Village

Although Tuktuk Village is often considered the tourist hub of Lake Toba, it’s still a peaceful and charming place to wander around, especially on non-holiday weekdays. The picturesque atmosphere and beautiful flowers make it an ideal place to relax and soak in the vibes.

There’s no shortage of great restaurants and pizza spots in Tuktuk. Jenny’s Restaurant** is a standout, offering fantastic pizza (and real cheese, unlike in many parts of Sumatra) and a menu filled with delicious seafood and local specialties. Don’t forget to try the cocktails if you’re in the mood!

3. Sampling Tuak (Palm Wine)

A unique local experience involves tasting tuak, a traditional palm wine made from the sap of palm trees, which is a popular drink in the region. Around 5 p.m., you’ll notice local men (and sometimes women) gathering at small tuak bars, which become vibrant social hubs until late in the evening. While it’s not essential for tourists to join in, if you’re invited, it’s a great way to connect with the local community and enjoy some traditional Batak songs.

Tuak can be an acquired taste, so if you decide to try it, start slow—especially if you’re not a regular drinker! It’s typically served in plastic bags, which is standard here.

4. Scenic Views at Reggae Guesthouse

For some of the best views of Lake Toba, head to the balcony at Reggae Guesthouse in Tuktuk. This place offers panoramic views of the lake, with a bay framed by colorful bougainvillea blooms. The view at sunset is particularly stunning, so grab a beer, relax, and take in the serenity.

The guesthouse itself is peaceful and a perfect place to unwind. The rooms have equally beautiful views, and the area offers a tranquil atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of more touristy spots. If you’re a fan of tofu, don’t miss the **tofu sambal**—it’s a must-try dish!

5. Explore the Beauty of the Surrounding Mountains

If you’re up for a scenic adventure, head to the mountains around Lake Toba. Take the road from Tomok village, which is dotted with lush rice fields, pine forests, and traditional Batak architecture. Along the way, you’ll pass **buffaloes lounging in mud baths** and can stop at various **viewpoints** for stunning vistas of the lake below.

One of the coolest places you’ll discover is Danau Aek Natonang, a beautiful lake located on an island within the lake on an island. The scenery is breathtaking, and it’s an ideal spot for some quiet contemplation or a few memorable photos.
