Split Highlights
- Meet the tour guide to start the tour on the Riva Promenade - the waterfront in the Split city centre. Today, this promenade is the living room of Split, the most popular and most important public place in the city.
- Walk to one of the entrances of Diocletian's Palace - the brass gate, and enter the substructures of Diocletian's Palace. The Diocletian Palace substructures represent one of the world's best-preserved ancient complexes of their kind.
- Continue to the Peristil Square, the central square of the palace.
- See the Vestibul and the Cathedral of St Domnius.
- Continue walking along the street, Cardo, and head to the Golden Gate - the most important entrance to the palace, the gate through which Emperor Diocletian entered the palace in the year 305.
- Finish the tour next to the statue of Gregory of Nin. This 8.5 metre (28 ft) tall and 13 tons heavy statue by Ivan Meštrović is a much-visited sight in town.
