Description
Only local guides, driving 7-seaters, 4wd, and total A/C vehicles, will allow you to explore comfortable conditions apart from the mainland of Crete, which compatible vehicles, buses or minibuses can't offer. So it is not just a tour for tastings, driving you from one to another winery/olive mill, but it is an adventurous semi-private exploring tour, with lunchtime and not just snacks and beverages. On our first stop, we will visit the "Saint John the Hermit" cave, and you will enjoy the view from the nature belvedere. A few minutes later will be at the 3000-5000 years old olive tree and Anoskeli's olive mill and winery for your tastings. Driving on rough roads, you will enjoy the view from Topolia or Sebronas gorge, depending on which of the restaurants will be open at the time for your lunchtime. Your delicious lunch will consist of a traditional Cretan flavour with Cretan Salad, a glass of wine or beer and dessert.

Olive Oil and Wine tasting at Anoskeli's Winery
- Saint John the Hermit Cave: At our first stop, you will visit the “Saint John the Hermit” cave, where he lived in the 16th century for three years. You will enjoy the view from the Aegean Sea (to the North) up to the White Mountains (to the South). During the Ottoman occupation, at the same cave, there was a "secret school" where the young boys from the close villages learned to read and write Greek.
- Ano Vouves: Admire, touch it and take plenty of photos of the unique 3000 - 5000 years old olive tree, which is still productive! You will see a traditional stone olive mill and a typical small farm in Crete. Time for a cup of coffee/mountain teα or fresh orange juice; you enjoy your time in the countryside.
- Anoskeli: At Anoskeli's Olive mill and winery, the sommeliers and wine and olive oil producers, as more professional in their sector, will inform you about the wine and olive oil when they serve you. Taste the organic extra virgin olive oil, spread on warm bread with oregano, salt and lemon juice. Continue with a winery experience by trying five different labels of local wine, accompanied by Cretan snacks. Keep your privacy and have an enjoyable time tasting local products.
- The mainland of West Crete: It is the right time to see what we offer more from our competitors. Driving on rough roads in the countryside will explore the mainland of the western part of Crete, where are olive trees, vineyards, many small villages and gorges. You will enjoy the view of the Topolia or Sebronas gorge view depending on the restaurant where we will decide to serve the lunch. Admire and take plenty of photos of wild landscape nature. You can see local mountain goats and watch the vultures fly up to the sky from their nests.
- Restaurant: Depending on the period of the year that you join the tour, we choose a different restaurant, trying if it is possible to avoid being so crowdy during your lunchtime. Your delicious lunch will consist of traditional Cretan flavours with seasonal salad, wine, beer and dessert.
