Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival

   • Arrive at Ioannina airport and meet your guide. 
   • Transfer to Tsepelovo, where we will spend the night.

2. Day 2- Zagori Village - Vradeto - Kapesovo

   • From Tsepelovo (1050 m), we start walking on an ascending path towards the highest Zagori village.
   • Then, we return to the village of Vradeto and continue downhill to the town of Kapesovo.
   • We walk down the famous Vradeto Steps, and then we are transferred back to Tsepelovo. 

   Overnight stay in a traditional pension.

3. Day 3- Vikos Gorge - Kipi - Vitsa

   • We descend to the trailhead of the Vikos Gorge, marked by a stone bridge built in the year 980 A.D., called “Paliogefyra”. 
   • We will end our hike in the village of Kipi for lunch. 
   • Afterwards, we move from Kipi to Vitsa and Monodendri, built right on the edge of the gorge wall. 

   Overnight stay in a traditional pension in Vitsa.

4. Day 4- Voidomatis River Springs

   • We descend the old Vitsa stairs into the Vikos Gorge and the Voidomatis river springs early in the morning.
   • Early in the afternoon, we arrive in Vikos, where we spend the night in a hotel.

5. Day 5- Papigo

   • Hike and view the beautiful ravines around Papigo in the distance. Above us, the “Towers of Papigo” are rising abruptly to dangerous heights.

   Overnight stay in a traditional pension.

6. Day 6- Dragon Lake

   • We follow the mule trail to the hut on the Astraka Col. Northward lie the Albanian mountains. 
   • Have lunch at the refuge, and move up to the scenic Dragon Lake (2100m).
   • Then, we return to Papigo. 

   Dinner at a local taverna. Overnight stay in a traditional pension.

7. Day 7- Departure

   • Transfer from Papigo to Ioannina. Free day in Ioannina city.
   • Don’t forget to pay a visit to the museums.

   Overnight stay in a hotel in Ioannina.
