Itinerary
-
Explore Greece through its historical locations
- Meet the professional driver, and the tour starts with a drive along the coast. On the way, you will view some Greek seaside villages and the island of Salamis (where the historical naval battle took place between the Athenians and the Persians).
- Make your first stop at the Corinth Canal; you will have the time to walk across a pedestrian bridge to admire the canal closely. On some days, bungee jumping is an option.
- Continue to Corinth city, dominated by the hill of Acrocorinth and the oldest and largest castle in southern Greece. The site located at the foot of the hill includes the Roman Agora, the Temple of God Apollo and a small museum.
- Ancient Corinth is also one of Greece's most popular religious destinations, as this was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity and established the best-organized Christian church of that period.
- The next stop will be Nemea. Visit the ancient Greek stadium and the Temple of Zeus.
- After the visit to the site, you will head towards one of the Nemean wineries. People will gladly give you a small tour showing you the vineyards and the storage barrels and explain to you the wine-making procedure. In the end, you will get to try some of their best varieties of wine while taking in the view of the Nemean Valley.
- Lastly, you will visit the city of Nafplio, considered the most scenic city in Greece. It offers you an outstanding combination of fortresses and castles (Palamidi). Also, go to Bourtzi, a prominent port that opens to the Aegean Sea.
- Stop for lunch at a traditional seaside tavern, and drive up to the castle of Acronafplia for a panoramic view of Nafplio.
- Drive back to your accommodation in Athens.
