Agios Nikolaos, Elounda & Spinalonga Tour
Meet the tour guide and begin the tour. Make a short stop at Agios Georgios Selinari, a monastery located in Selinari gorge, built during the 2nd Byzantine era with a Catholic church dedicated to Saint George.
After this short stop, head towards Elounda with your Greek tour guide. It is a small town with a picturesque harbour.
From here, take a taxi boat to visit and explore the island of Spinaloga. This island was a Venetian Fortress and was used as a Leper Colony until 1957.
Take a walk around the ruins of this small city. After your return from Spinaloga, have lunch in a traditional tavern at Plaka, next to Elounda. There are many traditional taverns with the authentic Cretan vibe, serving fresh fish and overlooking Spinaloga.
Then, at Agios Nikolaos, visit the lake ("Voulismeni"), a deep water body connected to the sea by a narrow inlet, surrounded and overlooked by cafés and restaurants, making it a hub for residents and visitors alike.
