Sign up for this full-day rural experience trip to the north bank of the River Gambia and sail back through time to the days of the slave trade. Walk in the footsteps of the famous author Alex Haley and visit the Slave Statues and the Museum of Slavery. Meet the lady chief of Juffureh village and also a descendant of Kunta Kinteh before heading by wooden canoe boat to the ruins of Fort James Island.

Juffureh Village and Roots River Gambia Cruise Tour
- Pick up from your hotel early in the morning at 6:30 am and drive to Denton bridge riverside. Join in our cruise boat to sail along the river Gambia to the north bank.
- Upon arrival at Juffureh and Alberda Village, a guided tour will be conducted to the Slave Statues and the Museum of Slavery.
- Meet the lady chief of Juffureh village and also a descendant of Kunta Kinteh.
- Next, move by a wooden canoe to the ruins of Fort James Island, now called Kunta Kinteh Island, where the slaves were imprisoned.
- Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on board and hopefully see the dolphins that often play at the side of the boat.
- Arrive at your hotel at 6 pm. Tour ends.
