Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Accra

   • Meet your arriving flight at Kotoka International Airport in Accra. Safe transport to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Refresh and relax. Neighbourhood or Accra city orientation as time permits. 

   Overnight at a high-rise hotel in Osu. 

2. Day 2 : Accra Tour: Nkrumah Memorial, Independence Square, Oxford St. & more!

   • Meet your guide at 8:30 AM and depart on a guided tour of Accra.
   • Visit to Kwame Nkrumah Monument.
   • Independence Square.
   • Makola Market, Accra.
   • Visit the historic Jamestown.
   • Visit W.E.B. Du Bois Center.

3. Day 3 : Naming Ceremony, Traditional Blessing, Drumming and Dancing

   • Pick-up is at 7:00 AM for a day of cultural interactions, celebration, and ceremony. Shop a local market for supplies for today's homemade meal. Traditional blessings. Receive your Ghana name at an Outdooring ceremony among much merriment.

4. Day 4: Ashanti Shrine, Traditional Craft Villages, Cocoa Farm

   • Depart for one of the last Ashanti traditional buildings, the Yaw Tano at Besease.
   • Visit traditional craft villages around Kumasi showcasing Kente cloth weaving,Kumasi   
   • Adinkra cloth stamping and wood carving. 
   • Visit a cocoa farm in the village.

5. Day 5: Cultural Center, Manhyia Palace, Kejetia Market, Kumasi Nightlife

   • In the morning, visit the National Cultural Center, one of Ghana's best museums, home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace.
   • Explore Komfo Anokye Sword sit.
   • Visit West Africa's largest market, the vast Kejetia Market. 
   • Experience Kumasi's no-host nightlife.

6. Day 6 : Slave River, Cape Coast Castle, Door of Return, Beach

   • Follow the slave trail to the coast, stopping at a former slave market and cemetery.
   • Tour the World Heritage site and former slave dungeon of Cape Coast castle.
   • Be welcomed back to the Motherland at a beachside "Door of Return" ceremony.

7. Day 7: Kakum National Park, Crocodiles, Central Elmina, Culture Performance

   • Morning visit to the rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum National Park.
   • Visit nearby crocodile ponds. 
   • Visit central Elmina to see the busy fishing lagoon and take the grand walkway to hilltop Ft. San Jago. 
   • Special cultural performance.

8. Day 8: Beach Morning, Posuban Shrine, Accra Shopping, Departure

   • Reflection time at the beach before departing east along the coast to Accra.
   • Stop at a pineapple farm or an extravagant Posuban shrine along the drive.
   • Last-minute shopping at a crafts market or upscale boutiques as time permits.
