Day-1: Arrival Into The Motherland through Accra
- Meet your arrival at the Kotoka International Airport at a time to be determined. Depart from the airport in an air-conditioned vehicle to have an AKWAABA (welcome) refreshment, and if time permits, we will have an Accra city orientation. Continue to your hotel to refresh and relax for your culture and heritage tour ahead. Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Accra (2 nights); lunch and dinner included.

Day-2: Accra City tour
- Your heritage adventure begins with an introduction to the history of Ghana’s independence with a visit to Kwame Nkrumah Monument and Independence Square. Continue with stops at Jamestown & Ussherfort, the oldest districts in Accra, Makola Market in central Accra for a wide array of products sold, shopping and drumming lessons at Arts Center, Pan African Culture at W.E.B Du Bois Center.

Day-3: Aburi Botanical Gardens - Cedi Bead - Adomi Bridge - Volta River
- In the morning, depart for relaxation in the small town of Atimpoku, stopping at Ghana’s most beautiful garden, which offers bicycle rentals (pay out of pocket). Before arriving at the garden, you can stop at the Aburi craft market for some shopping. Continue to a bead workshop on your way to the Volta River. This shop is home to many different types of beads, which always meets the needs of beads enthusiasts.
- Arrive in Atimpoku with a final stop at the Adomi Bridge, Ghana’s only steel arch bridge. Abseiling is available (pay out of pocket) for those who are not afraid of heights and dropping from a bridge into a boat on the Volta River. Enjoy a motorboat ride to climax your day and arrive to enjoy your resort. Overnight at a budget hotel in Atimpoku.

Day-4: Volta River - Traditional Craft Villages
- In the morning, relax or swim on the banks of the Volta River, watching fishermen travel with their early catch. Depart to the Ashanti Kingdom with a stop at the home of authentic Ghanaian Kente, Adanwomase, to witness how Kente is weaved. Extra fee to have a Naming Ceremony covered in Kente at the Chief’s palace with drumming and dancing.
- Continue for Adinkra Stamping at Ntonso village. Stamp out different types of Adinkra symbols into your textile strip, which is yours after this tour, so carefully choose your style. End your day at the carving shops at Ahwiaa before arriving at your hotel in Kumasi. Overnight at an upscale hotel in Kumasi (with lunch and dinner).

Day-5: Manhyia Palace - National Cultural Center - Kejetia Market
- In the morning, visit the home of the Ashanti King, Manhyia Palace, to witness the Ashanti Kingdom’s rich history and culture. Continue to one of Ghana’s best museums, the National Cultural Center, with a stop at the mystic Komfo Anokye sword. Lastly, visit West Africa’s largest outdoor market, Kejetia Market, which has a lot of shopping potential. Take the rest of the day off to relax after a rather calm day.

Day-6: Slave Cemetery - Cape Coast Castle - Cultural Performance
- In the morning, depart on a coastal journey to the historic town of Cape Coast. The first stop would be at Assin Manso Slave River, the former slave cemetery and market. Travel to the former slave dungeon of Cape Coast castle, which holds a lot of significant history to the Diaspora. For an extra fee, have a “Door of Return” ceremony to signify your return from the slave trade to the motherland. Have a special evening cultural performance to celebrate your presence back in the motherland. Go ahead and feel free to join in the dancing and drumming on stage as the performance goes on. Continue to your beach resort for a night contemplation of your day. Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Elmina (1 night) (lunch and dinner).

Day-7: Beach Morning - Kakum National Park - Last Shopping - Drop-off
- In the morning, relax on your enticing sandy beach, contemplating your tour so far. Get ready as we depart back to where it all began in Accra. Visit Ghana’s most visited attraction, the Kakum National Park, which is covered with tropical forest for a canopy walkway experience. It has one of the best birding sites in Ghana, so birdwatchers, come prepared to see some birds on your list.
- Travel to the capital city, Accra, stopping at Mankessim to see one of the rare Posuban shrines left in the region. Continue on your coastal drive, arriving before dark for any last-minute shopping. Say your goodbyes to friends made in Ghana before being dropped off at the airport 2 hours before your flight time.
