Tour Rochester and Chatham
Pick-up by a guide from your local hotel or nearest train station
Visit Rochester High Street: a quaint Victorian-era street straight out of a Dickens story; many shops having kept their original store-fronts, and Dickens' memorabilia at every turn.
Tour the beautiful, old Norman Cathedral and Castle.
Visit the Charles Dickens museum, his house, and see quite a few places you may have read of in his stories.
Alternatively, visit the nearby Chatham: home to an excellent Naval museum and a number of Royal Navy Ships, a submarine, and the rope museum, the longest brick-built building in the world. A visit to the Royal Engineers Museum is also highly recommended.
