Tom Bell AAPGAI.
I’ve been fly fishing for 35 years in rivers, saltwater and stillwaters to International level in the UK & abroad. In the seventies, I grew up in The Udny Arms fishing hotel in Newburgh, Aberdeen. It was on the River Ythan that I spun with flies for sea trout in the saltwater estuary.
I host trips to Los Roques in Venezuela for Bonefish and Tarpon.I run residential Atlantic Salmon courses on the River Shin in Scotland and I host a fly fishing school of excellence at Mere Beck Fishery in Lancashire, UK.
Fly fishing is an artistic practise. Our equipment should be balanced and work in harmony with our bodies.Fly casting is about movement and understanding how our bodies are designed to move.My tuition and tackle advice is bespoke to the client for we are all different.
There is too much emphasis on the science of casting and not enough on the art of movement.
